A multidisciplinary property consultancy is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor to join its Birmingham team. The Building Surveyor will be part of a busy Building Surveying service line delivering advice across multiple sectors. This Building Surveyor role will cover both professional and project-based assignments, providing Building Surveying services for investors, occupiers, and landlords. The Building Surveyor will work on a variety of projects, from technical due diligence and condition surveys to refurbishment, alterations, and contract administration. The role is based in Birmingham.

The Role
As the Assistant Building Surveyor, you will support the delivery of both professional and project-based instructions across the full property lifecycle.
The role will include:
- Assisting with project management and contract administration
- Preparation of specifications, schedules of condition, and technical documentation
- Undertaking condition surveys, pre-acquisition surveys, and technical due diligence (TDD)
- Managing dilapidations, refurbishments, repairs, and maintenance schemes
- Working closely with clients, contractors, and design teams
- Gaining exposure to a wide range of property types and sectors
The Assistant Building Surveyor?
You will be a motivated and capable Building Surveyor looking to build experience in both professional and project-based work.
The Assistant Building Surveyor must have:
- A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- Experience in professional services or project management, including surveys, contract administration, and reporting
- Confident client-facing skills with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
- Good organisational and communication skills
