The Opportunity
An established residential lettings business is seeking an experienced HMO Licensing Manager to oversee compliance across its property portfolio and lead a small team of Property Managers.
This is a key in-house role focused on ensuring all HMO properties meet licensing requirements and remain fully compliant with current regulations. You will work closely with the wider residential team, tenants, and contractors to maintain high standards, manage risk, and deliver excellent service.
This position is ideal for a knowledgeable and proactive property professional with strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of HMO legislation.
Key Responsibilities

Auditing properties to identify HMO licensing requirements

Coordinating safety checks, inspections, and certification

Managing and supporting a small team of Property Managers

Liaising with tenants and contractors to resolve issues efficiently

Overseeing remedial works and conducting post-maintenance inspections

Coordinating maintenance and repair works to ensure compliance standards are met

Handling deposit returns in accordance with current regulations

Managing rental arrears and resolving disputes

Instructing eviction proceedings where necessary

Conducting regular one-to-ones and monitoring team performance

Ensuring the business remains risk-averse and fully compliant with all relevant legislation
Requirements

Proven understanding of HMO licensing requirements and compliance processes

Experience within residential property management

Strong leadership and team management ability

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Confident delivering high levels of customer service

Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment

Experience using property management systems such as Qube (desirable but not essential - training provided)
