We are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a friendly and engaging child with Autism in a mainstream primary school setting in Key Stage 1.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to a child who is kind, polite, and a pleasure to work with, but who requires additional support to fully access learning and develop socially and emotionally.
You will be providing 1:1 and small-group support to a pupil as follows:

Has a diagnosis of Autism

Demonstrates strong memory and developing literacy and numeracy skills

Enjoys writing and has a particular interest in times tables

Uses complex language to express needs and interests

Benefits from consistent adult support to engage in learning
Although the child shows good potential, they are currently working below age-related expectations and need structured avoiding distraction, emotional regulation, social understanding, and classroom engagement.
The key responsibilities are as follows:

Provide tailored 1:1 classroom support to promote focus and learning

Support small-group interventions for social skills, emotional regulation, and reading comprehension

Encourage positive peer interactions and inclusive attitudes

Assist with implementing personalised learning strategies

Support sensory and emotional regulation needs

Work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals

Promote independence, confidence, and resilience
