Stores Operative required in Rotherham
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking FLT Stores Operative to support warehouse and stores operations. This role is ideal for someone with FLT experience who is confident moving stock safely and efficiently, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and housekeeping.
Stores Operative Benefits:
Shift: Day Shift - Monday to Thursday 08:00am - 16:30pm & Friday 08:00am - 15:30pm
Rate of Pay: £13.23 per hour
Hours: 39 hours per week - paid weekly
Start Date: Monday 16th February 2026 - Please do not apply if you have a holiday booked within the next 12 weeks, as this is a crucial training period
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Location: Rotherham, S60Stores Operative Duties:
Operating FLT trucks to move stock safely within the warehouse - once you have received in house training
Loading and unloading deliveries
Booking goods in and out of the stores area
Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch
Quality checking products to ensure company standards are met
Labelling, wrapping, and palletising goods accurately
Supporting stock control and inventory accuracy
Working efficiently to meet daily targets and deadlines
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Adhering to all health and safety procedures
Working independently and as part of a teamStores Operative Criteria:
Previous experience in a stores or warehouse role is essential
FLT experience preferred (Counterbalance, Reach, or VNA advantageous)
Willingness to train and operate up to 3 different FLT trucks
Valid FLT licence beneficial but not essential (in-house training available)
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Positive attitude and team-player mentality
Ability to follow instructions and safe working practicesPlease note: This is a physically demanding role involving regular manual handling alongside FLT operation.
