Our client, a growing establishment within the Kidderminster area are currently looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team on a temp-perm basis. As a Finance Assistant, you will be faced with a range of duties to contribute to the smooth operations within the accounts team.
Main responsibilities (not limited to):
Responsible for processing invoices (sales and purchase ledger)
Managing payments and receipts
Bank reconciliations
Take control of credit control and regularly monitoring and chasing overdue payments
Processing expenses claims and support with managing petty cash
Maintaining financial records and filing systems in line with HMRC
VAT returns preparation and submission
Maintain and managing supplier and customer accounts
Handling financial queries from internal teams and external contacts
Preparing routine financial reports
Managing financial documentation and audit trails
Supporting month-end and year-end processes
Liaising with banks, suppliers, and customers
Maintaining accounting software/systems
Ensuring compliance with financial procedures
Supporting audits by providing documentation
Filling statutory returns and documents
Responding to financial queries
Working with other departments on budget/finance matters
Deliver excellent customer service throughout.
Any other duties reasonably requested.
Complete training as required or requested to enhance capabilities.
Maintain the function/responsibilities (where appropriate) of colleagues in their absence
Person specification:
Previous experience within a Finance position previously. (essential)
Familiar with a range of accountancy software (essential)
Can work in a team and independently. (essential)
Great attention to detail (essential)
