An established and respected business in Redditch is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive team. This is a full time role although they may consider the right person at 30 hours a week.
This is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for running the accounts function across multiple entities, alongside some general office administration duties where hours allow.
To efficiently manage the accounting systems for a couple of small subsidiary companies through to trial balance as well as the main company accounts; while delivering a high standard of service to customers, directors, colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Key Accounting Responsibilities
Managing accounts for multiple entities using Sage 50 and spreadsheets
Purchase ledger and sales ledger
Bank reconciliations
VAT return preparation and submission
Month-end processes
Maintaining accurate financial records through to trial balance
Basic credit controlAdhoc duties below
Basic health & safety administration in a low-risk office environment
Sourcing best-value utility suppliers
Stationery ordering and general office administration-The successful Accounts Assistant will have the following skills and experience
hands-on accounts experience using Sage 50
Solid experience with purchase and sales ledgers
Bank reconciliations
VAT returns
Month-end accounting processesIn return you can expect to receive a basic salary for between £27,000-£30,000 depending on your skills and experience. This role would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and being a trusted part of a close-knit team
