Job Title: Accounts Assistant Manager

An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an Accounts Assistant Manager to join its accounts team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified (or nearly qualified) accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and professional environment.
About the role
You will play a key role in assisting with the management of a diverse client portfolio, working closely with senior staff and partners. The role is mixed and varied, combining technical review work, client contact, and team support responsibilities.
Key responsibilities:
Acting as a key member of the accounts team, assisting in managing a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
Reviewing accounts, corporation tax and VAT returns prior to partner review
Ensuring all review points and queries are cleared efficiently
Involvement in accounts preparation, accounts reviews, corporation tax computations, personal tax and potential tax planning work
Acting as a main point of contact for clients, answering queries and providing advice as required
Assisting in the management of a team of approximately five staff, including support with technical queries
Allocating work and monitoring job progress to ensure deadlines are met
Using cloud accounting software and advising both clients and staff on best practice
About you:
ACA or ACCA qualified, or within 1–2 exams of qualification
Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax
Confident communicator with both clients and colleagues
Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing deadlines
Experience using cloud accounting software
