Our client is a rapidly expanding road freight and logistics company based in Manchester they are now looking for a Customer Service Operator who genuinely cares about people, takes pride in doing things properly, and wants to be part of building the bigger picture
Main Responsibilities
- Being the first point of contact for customers, calm, professional, and solutions-focused
- Handling customer enquiries via phone and email with speed and confidence
- Processing bookings accurately and ensuring service requests are executed smoothly
- Tracking shipments and proactively updating customers, no chasing, no confusion
- Resolving issues and complaints with ownership, empathy, and urgency
- Keeping customer records and internal systems clean, accurate, and up to date
- Working closely with operations, logistics, and sales to deliver on customer promises
- Spotting inefficiencies and suggesting smarter ways of doing things
- Supporting the business with general admin, data entry, and documentation
- Ensuring all work aligns with company standards and UK logistics regulations
What We're Looking For
- Experience in customer service, from a logistics, freight, express road, parcels background
- Strong communication skills. you're clear, professional, and confident
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using spreadsheets, Excel, and internal systems
- Able to multitask and stay composed under pressure
- A positive, team-first attitude. no egos, no excuses
- A mindset that takes ownership, not shortcuts
- Logistics or supply chain knowledge is a strong advantage
