We’re looking for an experienced Senior Pre‑Construction Project Engineer to lead MEICA activities across a portfolio of pre‑construction projects. You’ll drive technical excellence, shape reliable early‑stage plans and costs, guide the design process, and play a key role in setting projects up for successful delivery. If you’re a strong leader with deep technical expertise, this is a fantastic opportunity to influence major infrastructure schemes.
Location: Hampton (with travel to London sites)
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support pre‑construction MEICA activities across multiple projects

Manage and mentor Project Engineers and Assistants

Review design deliverables for compliance with contractual, design and regulatory standards

Coordinate client approvals and internal governance processes

Oversee surveys, testing and inspections to support design development

Act as Mechanical or Electrical Appointed Person when required

Engage supply chain partners, issue high‑quality enquiries and assess quotations
-
Contribute to framework supplier selections and challenge constraints where needed
-
Produce and review delivery plans, procurement schedules and buildability considerations
-
Provide a strong technical interface with the client across Civil and MEICA disciplines
-
Support programme development and collaborative planning
-
Optimise technical solutions while ensuring full compliance

Ensure smooth handover into operational delivery
About You
-
HND/HNC in MEICA Engineering (BEng/MEng desirable)
-
Experience in construction/engineering within Water/Wastewater
-
SMSTS and CSCS
-
Proven leadership and people‑management capability
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Client‑focused, collaborative and commercially aware
-
Skilled in supply chain management and negotiation
-
Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities
-
Confident presenting to internal and external audiences

Strong IT proficiency and a proactive "can‑do" mindset
