Job Summary
Our client are seeking a full-time Warehouse Supervisor to join their well-established, family-run SME in Alton. The role is responsible for supervising the warehouse team and ensuring goods are received, picked, packed and dispatched accurately, safely and on time. You will allocate daily workload, create SOPs and ensure they are followed, support training and onboarding, and help resolve day-to-day operational issues. The role will also support other areas of Operations as required, including goods inwards, replenishment, manufacturing and packaging/banding.
Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including materials handling, shipping, and receiving

Lead and manage warehouse staff, fostering a productive and safe working environment

Oversee the operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations

Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels, order processing, and stock movements
-
Implement process improvements to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce operational costs
-
Coordinate logistics activities with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
-
Maintain accurate records using systems such as AS400 for inventory management and reporting
-
Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce health & safety policies within the warehouse

Assist with heavy lifting tasks when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are followed to prevent injury

Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth shipping & receiving operations and resolve any logistical issues promptly
Role & Responsibilities

Lead, motivate and supervise warehouse operatives to achieve daily targets

Support onboarding and monitor training of warehouse operatives

Allocate labour across pick/pack/dispatch/receiving to meet workload demands

Ensure orders are picked, packed and dispatched on time and to the correct standard

Monitor error trends (wrong items, missing items, damaged goods) and reduce repeat issues
-
Promote and apply Lean principles to reduce waste, improve flow and increase productivity across warehouse operations
-
Create, maintain and update SOPs as processes evolve
-
Carry out daily/weekly/monthly warehouse checks and report any issues
-
Processing customer returns in a timely manner, ensuring items are checked and booked in correctly
Additional duties Include

Pick, pack & dispatch orders using the Handheld terminal and WMS system

Maintain a clean and tidy work area

Assist with receiving & checking incoming deliveries

Working Hours
Monday to Friday - 8:30am - 5:30pm
Salary - £30,000 a year
