Job Title: Yard Operative
Contract: 6-month Fixed-Term Contract (potential to become permanent)
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)
Overtime at time and a half
Hours: 40 hours per week. 7:30am - 4pm Mon - Fri.
(Opportunity to earn overtime at weekends)
Location: Bishop's Stortford
Overview
A hands-on, varied role supporting the day-to-day running of a site. You'll cover relief van driving as needed, support the warehouse and yard operation, and help with general site maintenance and practical tasks. Training will be provided.
Key responsibilities
Provide relief van driving support as required
Assist with warehouse duties including picking, packing and general organisation
Support yard work and keeping the site running smoothly day-to-day
Help with basic maintenance and general "hands-on" tasks around the site
Assist the wider team / support the assistant manager function as needed
Work accurately with figures and measurements, following instructions carefully
Skills and experience
Practical, hands-on approach and happy working indoors/outdoors
Strong numeracy and attention to detail (essential)
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with a 7:30am start
Able to follow processes and work safely and tidily
A flexible attitude - no two days will be the same
Must be physically fit due to the nature of the job
Own transport is essential due to the location.
