The Role
A growing UK transport and logistics business is seeking an experienced Customer Service Manager to take ownership of its customer service function within a fast-paced pallet network environment.
This is a hands-on role within the transport team, focused on managing day-to-day customer interactions, coordinating with pallet network partners, and ensuring a consistently high level of service across time-critical freight movements.
You will act as the main point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring deliveries are tracked, issues are resolved efficiently, and communication is clear and professional at all times.
The role suits someone who understands the pace and pressures of transport and logistics and can remain calm, organised, and customer-focused in a busy operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Handling inbound customer calls and emails relating to bookings, delivery times, and service queries
· Liaising with pallet network depots to chase ETAs and resolve delivery issues
· Working closely with the operations team to ensure smooth delivery execution
· Proactively communicating delays or issues to customers in a professional manner
· Managing customer claims and associated documentation
· Accurately maintaining internal systems and pallet network databases
· Sourcing transport solutions by contacting suppliers, obtaining quotes, negotiating rates, and arranging bookings
· Supporting finance teams with new customer account setup and booking portals
· Building strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

About You
· Experience within transport, logistics, or pallet network operations
· Excellent telephone manner and confident communication skills
· Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Organised, detail-focused, and confident using transport or logistics systems
· Able to communicate effectively with customers, depots, and internal teams
· UK pallet network experience is highly desirable
