Our client, a long-established family firm with a network of branches in the South and East of England, that supply machinery and services to the agricultural, construction and professional ground care machinery markets, are looking for a Goods in Operative, to be based at their branch in Cambridge.
On Offer:
- Full-time permanent role
- Working Hours: 39 hours per week – 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm Friday (1-hour unpaid lunch) Saturdays (1 in 4) as per rota. (Overtime paid at time and a half on completion of 39 hours Monday to Friday)

Main Purpose of the Goods In Operative:
Reporting to the Parts & Retail Manager, your role will be to assist with the organising and control of the goods inward area, but also successfully distribute goods to other branches in an efficient and timely manner. This area must be organised and effectively arranged for quick and easy access to the Parts/Retail team.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Goods in Operative:
- Transfer of stock into the stores and showroom
- Unpacking branch 'bins' and processing supplier parcels
- Loading and unloading of deliveries & collections
- Dealing with workshop orders & enquiries
- Stock checking
- Provide efficient, effective and friendly customer service
- Have an understanding of relevant goals and targets set for the parts department and branch
- Follow company procedures and guidelines and appropriate health & safety measures whilst undertaking your role
To Be Considered for the Goods In Operative:
- Enjoy working in a busy atmosphere and can cope under pressure during busy periods
- Good communication skills: face to face, email & phone
- General computer skills
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- A team player capable of working alone or with other team members
- Maintain a good general level of health and fitness
- Able to work on your own initiative
- Full Driver's licence
- Forklift Licence (desirable)
