Veritas Education is partnering with primary, secondary, and SEN schools across Hertfordshire to recruit dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistants who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs and learning difficulties. These are full-time, term-time roles, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm.
We are seeking candidates with a strong track record of supporting students, ideally within an educational environment, particularly those with SEN and additional learning needs. You should bring a solid understanding of SEN and learning difficulties, gained through professional experience and/or relevant academic study.
Responsibilities of SEN Learning Support Assistant:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN and learning difficulties.
Work proactively to help students meet their academic goals.
Encourage and motivate students to actively engage in their learning.
Assist in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Support the teacher in general learning and student development.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience supporting students with special educational needs and a solid understanding of SEN.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing, student-focused approach.
Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
