Goods In / Stores Operative
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
We are working on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client who is looking to recruit a Goods In / Stores Operative to join their busy and high-performing Stores team. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, detail-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in accuracy and organisation.
The Role
As a Goods In / Stores Operative, you will play a key role in the effective management of materials across the business. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, locating, and distributing materials accurately, while ensuring all inventory and data processes are completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Receive goods daily and accurately book them into inventory using the IFS system
Locate, store, and distribute materials efficiently to support production requirements
Pick materials in line with shop order Bills of Materials and deliver them to production cells
Produce and engrave labels for shop orders to support smooth production flow
Create and maintain Kanban systems to support Supply Chain and Production, including daily visual controls
Build spares kits in line with standard operating procedures and replenish lineside stock as required
Support the daily cycle counting programme to maintain inventory accuracy
Comply with all Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, carrying out inspections and identifying defects
Promote 5S, good housekeeping, and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) principles
Work to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and engage with the company's performance management system
Support the training and development of colleagues within the team
About You
Confident computer user with experience of Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and hardware
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach
Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Positive, motivated attitude with a strong work ethic
Qualified Counterbalance Forklift Driver (essential)
