Assistant Estates Manager
Hours: 37 per week | Location: Multi-site, based in Kent | Salary: £41,988
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Estates Manager to support maintenance, caretaking, and cleaning across our Western sites, with occasional support to Northern locations. Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will ensure estates operations run safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise maintenance, caretaking, and cleaning teams

Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications

Deliver the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme

Prepare specifications, tender documents, and basic drawings for procurement

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, building regulations, and development rules

Coordinate logistics for events and respond to alarms/emergencies as required

Monitor work via Estates Helpdesk, managing orders, invoices, and payments

Conduct Health & Safety inspections and support staff development
Skills & Experience

Background in building craft, surveying, or Health & Safety

Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and building maintenance

Familiarity with Mechanical & Electrical systems and Building Management Systems

Experience managing contractors and maintenance programmes to budget

Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills

Flexible approach with occasional off-site travel; clean driving licence
Desirable: First Aid at Work certificate
