Our welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Chelmsford is looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their supportive team.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
· Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, MLD, SLD, SEMH and communication needs.
· Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging and safe learning environment.
· Use creativity, patience and empathy to help pupils develop both academically and socially.
· Support pupils with personal care (if required) and regulation strategies.
· Adapt activities and learning materials to suit individual needs.
What We're Looking For
· Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or community settings).
· A positive, resilient and nurturing approach.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to build trusting relationships and encourage pupil independence.
· Any relevant training (e.g., Makaton, Team Teach, Autism awareness) is an advantage, but not essential.
