The Procurement Team are a key function within the day to operations of Places for People.

More about the role
Reporting to the Category Manager, we are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Senior Buyer to lead direct procurement activities within our Property (Assets) category. In addition, you will provide support on working with stakeholders to identify saving opportunities, drive value, deliver end to end procurement projects and maintain accurate contract and tender records. You will work in a team to understand your market and stakeholders to deliver overall value to PfP.
Ideally, the role is working in our South Rings Office in Preston 1-2 days a week

You'll have proven experience in procurement or commercial roles, with a strong understanding of sourcing and contract management.
Your negotiation skills will be matched by your ability to build strong relationships across teams and with suppliers.
The Ideal Candidate will have
- Proven experience in procurement within the housing sector or large commercial environment
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver value for money
- Skilled in developing high-quality procurement documentation, including strategies, tender documents, and recommendations
- Knowledge of public procurement regulations will be an advantage
