*Registered Veterinary Nurse – Small Animal Hospital, Wiltshire*
*£29,000 - £31,000 DOE*
We are looking for an experienced, compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our incredible nursing team at our well-equipped and thriving small animal hospital in Wiltshire. You will work alongside a supportive group of colleagues and enjoy a large and varied caseload that offers true scope for professional growth.
This is a full-time role of *40 hours per week*, worked across alternating shifts of *1pm–9:30pm* and *8am–5pm (There is an option to just work 1pm-9.30pm if that were preferable).* Weekend duties follow a *1-in-7 rotation*, covering an 8-hour shift on both Saturday and Sunday *8.00pm-5.00pm or 9.30pm-6.30pm*, with *Monday and Tuesday off in lieu*. We have our own dedicated OOH's team, so no requirement to work OOH.
*What We’re Looking For*
Excellent communication skills, empathy, and a collaborative approach are essential. You will be working closely not only with your fellow nurses but also with the Lead Ward Nurse, Theatre Lead Nurses, and the Nursing Director who oversees and supports the nursing team. Building strong, positive relationships across all departments will be key to your success.
*Your Role in Patient Care*
Our nurses play an active part in shaping the care we deliver. Your professional opinion will be welcomed and valued throughout the patient journey.
We fully support Schedule 3 procedures and provide *both internal and external training* to help you continue developing your clinical skills within our modern, forward-thinking hospital environment. Additional CPD—such as Schedule 3 courses or training that directly benefits the practice—is fully funded and not deducted from an individuals CPD budget.
*Training, CPD & Professional Development*
We offer a generous CPD budget of £750 with paid CPD leave we hold regular in-house training sessions to share knowledge across the team.
*About Us*
We are a *fiercely independent practice*, with Directors who work within the hospital and know every member of staff personally. With an RVN sitting on our board, the nursing voice is always represented at management level.
Our practice has a clear and supportive management structure that includes team leads, team managers, and Directors. You’ll also receive *monthly 1:1 mentoring* to support your wellbeing and development, and we place a strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy work–life balance.
We are proud to have:
* A *Social Committee*, organising events and activities throughout the year
* A *Sustainability Committee*, helping us reduce our environmental impact
* A dedicated *Wellbeing Team*, focused on supporting mental health and workplace wellbeing
These groups help ensure our practice is not only a great place to work clinically, but also socially, ethically, and personally.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN looking to further develop their skills in a welcoming, progressive, and well-supported hospital environment, while helping us deliver the highest standard of patient care.
