SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH (Long-Term Role)
Location: Dudley
Contract: Long-term / Full-time
Start Date: ASAP (or January start)
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a long-term basis within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in the Dudley area.
This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and challenging behaviours, and who can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
The Role:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis

Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management

Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans

Promoting emotional regulation, engagement, and positive outcomes

Providing consistent, long-term support to pupils who benefit from routine and structure
The Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with SEN, particularly SEMH (school or alternative provision experience desirable)

Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner

Patient, empathetic, and resilient

Able to work as part of a supportive staff team

Committed to a long-term role and making a real impact
