Principal Delivery Manager – Large-Scale Digital Programmes with Dynamics CE, Power Platform and power portal (MUST HAVE EXP OF THIS TO BE CONSIDERED)

A leading UK digital consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Delivery Manager to take ownership of multi-year transformation programmes across enterprise clients. This is a senior delivery leadership role overseeing multiple workstreams, complex stakeholder environments, and blended delivery teams (onshore/offshore).
You will be the political operator, escalation point, and programme owner - responsible for setting delivery direction, governing multiple streams of work, resetting failing projects when required, and ensuring outcomes land on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
This position also includes line management responsibility for a small team of Delivery Managers and Scrum Masters.
What you will lead
• Creating the environment for programme success across several parallel workstreams
• Full programme ownership: scope, governance, milestones, risks, budgets
• Running well-governed transformation, Dynamics 365, bespoke development and digital projects
• Managing senior client stakeholders and reporting directly into the consultancy’s leadership team
• Establishing and operating programme governance frameworks
• Working with both onshore and offshore engineering/implementation teams
• Managing budgets, time tracking, commercial change control and upsell
• Turning ambiguous requirements into structured, deliverable plans
• Managing agile delivery teams (directly and via Delivery Managers / Scrum Masters)
• Resetting and recovering projects that have hit delivery issues
• Providing pastoral care, coaching and performance management to junior delivery leads
What we’re looking for
• Proven experience owning complex digital or business transformation programmes
• Ability to navigate political environments and influence senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial awareness: budgets, forecasting, burn, change control, upsell
• Someone who thrives with autonomy, takes accountability, and is not afraid of messy programmes
• Calm escalation handling with a track record of steering failing workstreams back on course
• Comfortable leading distributed teams, including offshore delivery functions
• Obsessive attention to detail without losing sight of strategic objectives
• Able to work flexibly when deadlines demand it
