Assistant Conveyancing Solicitor — Position Overview
You will assist fee earners with residential property transactions across freehold, leasehold, and new build matters — helping to ensure a smooth process for clients from instruction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Conveyancing Solicitor
• Support senior fee earners across all conveyancing matters
• Sales and purchases — freehold and leasehold
• Remortgages and transfers of equity
• Drafting contracts, reports and standard documents
• Carrying out searches, AML & ID checks
• Lease extensions and auction matters
• Liaising with clients, agents, lenders and other firms
• File management, compliance support and admin duties
• Assist with post-completion requirements
• Working knowledge of the Building Safety Act (preferred but not essential)
• New Build experience desirable
Requirements of the Assistant Conveyancing Solicitor
• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX (or near completion of qualification)
• Some residential conveyancing experience desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Proactive, organised, and able to manage tasks with accuracy
• Excellent attention to detail and time management
• Confident IT skills including case management systems
• Positive attitude and keen to learn from experienced team members
• Must be able to reliably commute to North Finchley
