Goodwood Jubilee Memorial Homes comprises of both Protea Home for the Elderly and Goodwood Jubilee Retirement Centre. Goodwood Jubilee Memorial Homes currently has an opportunity for an experienced and skilled Manager and Board Member to join their team and manage both homes.
The successful candidate will report to the Chairperson of the Board and the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a team, have a love and passion for the elderly and be able to build strong, trusting relationships.
Key responsibilities:
- Reporting to Board of Directors
- Managing the Protea Home for the Elderly
- Managing the Goodwood Jubilee Retirement Centre
- Administrative tasks
- Overseeing the maintenance tasks of both homes
- Financial tasks
- Managing reportees
Requirements:
- Appropriate tertiary qualification related to general management, personnel management and financial management
- Relevant experience in a similar position (minimum of 3-5 years)
- Management and leadership experience (minimum of 3-5 years)
- Knowledge and experience regarding the law for elderly care and minimum norms and standards for elderly care
- Knowledge and experience of occupational health and safety legislation
- Knowledge and experience regarding death accompaniment will be beneficial
- High levels of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Good time management, planning and organising skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to think and act innovative
- Computer literacy and good typing skills
- Ability to work independently
- Driver’s license and own transport (code 8)
- Conflict management skills
- Strategic and analytical thinking abilities
A market-related salary structure will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills and experience.
