The Technical Project Manager’s primary focus will be on facilitating project delivery and driving change within the business through new IT project rollouts and process improvement initiatives. As a key member of the IT Projects team, this role will involve managing ongoing projects, gathering future project requirements, and enabling business transformation through technology. This role will have a strong focus on aiding transitions to new software solutions and enhancing internal technological enablement, while ensuring the solutions align with organisational strategies.
Key Performance Outputs:
- Plan and execute IT projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Track project progress, manage deadlines, and lead project meetings.
- Gather and translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement solutions aligned with industry best practices.
- Facilitate workshops to resolve issues and refine technical and functional specifications.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring clear communication of deliverables and risks.
- Oversee resource planning, including external consultants and suppliers.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies to enhance solution designs.
- Document and maintain comprehensive project plans, reports, and logs.
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Evaluate existing systems and propose end-to-end enhancements.

Requirements
Functional / Technical
- Background in end-to-end software development projects and methodologies.
- Strong business analysis skills, including providing end-user training.
- Good understanding of relational data management principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools/software such as Jira.
- Solid organisational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong focus on systems and process improvements
Qualifications / Education - Education: Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems or Project Management (PMP/PRINCE II preferred).
- Experience: 3-5 years in a similar role with expertise in project management processes and systems.
- Advantageous Experience: ERP rollouts, BI/data analytics projects, or fruit exports/agriculture/finance.
- Skills: Proficiency in Agile methodologies, relational data management, and tools like Jira.
