Our client, a global leading investment platform for the energy sector, situated in City Bowl, is currently seeking a Financial Controller/Manager to join their finance team permanently.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversee all finance functions of the business including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement across the organization.
- Project accounting.
- Manage and comply with reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance for our global accounting requirements.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with project directors, commercial director and CEO to ensure overall financial health of the business and projects.
- Advise the commercial director and project directors on cost and revenue management strategies, including close management and ownership of project budgets.
- Monthly, quarterly and annual submission of management finance reports covering all projects and group entities, submitted in a timely manner.
- Manage AR and AP team and conduct financial analysis to provide insights and recommendations for key business decisions.
- Oversee annual budgeting and support project directors in preparing budgets and forecasts.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Manage accounting operations and ensure compliance with reporting and tax requirements.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage cash flow and financial risk.
Skills and Qualifications: - Minimum qualification of a BCom in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
- Completed SAICA articles preferable.
- ACMA, CGMA, or similar qualification, is advantageous.
- 3 5 years experience in a similar role. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller / Financial Manager.
- Experience in the events/services industry is highly advantageous.
- The applicant must have experience with a group financial structure.
- Minimal travel required (once every 3 months for 2 7 days).
