Description
Our client in the IT industry based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ an IT Field Installer.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as Field Installer or relevant position.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Networking (Planning, Implementing, Configuring and Troubleshooting).
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems, networks and CCTV systems.
- Certification will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Valid Drivers Licence and clear criminal record.
- Technical role, performing 1st tier support.
- Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.).
- Minimum 3-year experience.
- CompTIA A+, N+ S+, and CCNA / CCNP preferred.
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
- Technical role, will be performing 1st and tier technical support function, while managing senior end user communications and relationships.
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.).
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize stability and performance.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.).
- Supervise and perform installations of all data network and CCTV systems.
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
- Define hardware and network requirements.
- Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, IPs etc.).
- Offer timely technical support.
- Perform monthly inventory stock takes.
- Collect and manage stock with monthly stock takes.
- Identify possible client leads and escalate to Manager as needed.
- Create and maintain documentation on IT manuals and procedures.
- Liaison with suppliers and clients.
- Travel to client sites.
