The main purpose of the Material Picker is to pick materials required by production.
General Duties:
- Reconciliation of handover stock.
- Storage of incoming materials.
- Picking of requisitions for materials from various departments.
- Completing Syspro transactions before sending physical goods up to production.
- On-going stock reconciliation and cycle counting.
- Responsibility for inventory control and stock take in area of responsibility.
- Checking of minimum stock levels liaising with Procurement as required to replenish stock where usage increases.
- Ensuring that the areas of responsibility are GMP and 5S compliant.
- Picking and processing returns of printing filters and foil to and from production.
- Supply requested stock for batches as per production requests or planned delivery times.
- Receive returns of raw materials, components, and printed packaging from production, and move stock to dedicated areas.
- Receipt and transport to bin washing area of empty plastic pallets, cages, glass reject bins, and reject printed packaging wheelie bins from production to be washed.
- Notify the waste assistant of any waste received from production.
- Filling in all stock item movements through the back lift in the official logbook according to GRK requirements.
- Movement of pallets received via the lift to the correct demarcated areas.
- Ensuring all fridge items received are placed inside the fridge and the details recorded in the fridge logbook.
- Cover weekend shifts according to production requirements.
- Responsible for good housekeeping in area of responsibility.
- From time to time carry out other jobs within the department/factory, which are consistent with the grade, qualification, and training of the incumbent.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12.
- 1-2 years of warehouse experience.
- Fork-lift license.
- Ability to obtain Picking List electronically.
- Ability to identify which components/consumables/materials on the Picking List are the Material Picker's responsibility and to find them accordingly.
- Knowledge of the location of various components within the aisles.
- Operate turret truck or electric pallet jack to collect materials from aisles.
