Key Responsibilities of the Chef role - Prepare and cook meals to a high standard, ensuring they meet residents' dietary requirements and preferences.
- Plan and develop menus that are varied, nutritious, and seasonally appropriate.
- Follow strict food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulations.
- Work with the care team to adapt meals as needed for residents with specific dietary needs or restrictions.
- Manage stock and supplies efficiently, ensuring minimal waste.
Requirements for the Chef role - Previous experience as a chef in a care home, school, hospital, or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of dietary needs, including allergies, dysphagia diets, and modified textures.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and respectful, with a commitment to enhancing the dining experience for residents.
