The Stock Room Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate stock levels, overseeing the organization of the stockroom, and ensuring the smooth flow of inventory into and out of the stockroom. This role involves close attention to detail, inventory management, and coordination with other departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of stock and it is physically demanding for example standing for long periods and lifting heavy items Key Responsibilities 1. Inventory Management - Monitor stock levels regularly and ensure that the stock room is adequately stocked. - Record stock movements accurately and ensure that stock is appropriately labelled and organized. - Perform regular stock counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy. - Identify and address discrepancies between physical stock and system records. 2. Receiving and Dispatching - Oversee the receipt of incoming stock, ensuring that items are undamaged and meet quality standards. - Organize the dispatch of stock to internal departments or external customers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. - Maintain proper documentation for all incoming and outgoing stock. 3. Stock Room Organization - Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient stock room. - Implement stock rotation procedures (FIFO) to minimize obsolescence and wastage. - Ensure that stock items are stored in accordance with health and safety standards. 4. Communication & Coordination - Liaise with the purchasing/Admin department to ensure timely stock replenishment. - Work closely with other departments to fulfil their stock requirements. - Communicate effectively with suppliers and couriers for smooth stock deliveries. 5. Compliance & Reporting - Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and quality standards. - Generate reports on stock levels, movements, and discrepancies as required by management. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent. - Relevant qualification in supply chain management, logistics, or inventory management (advantageous). Skills - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Problem-solving abilities and abilities to handle high-pressure environments. - Physically demanding, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy items Experience - Previous experience in a stock room, warehouse, or inventory control role is required. - Experience in managing stock in a fast-paced environment. - Familiarity with inventory control systems and procedures.
