KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
To develop and manage the execution of a comprehensive
category strategy to improve costs, service, and quality across the
organisation. This role will focus on consolidating high-value, high-risk spend categories to achieve annualized cost savings, increased
availability of goods and services, and reduced supply chain risks,
which includes but not limited to:
-Category strategy development
-Supplier relationship management
-Cost saving and efficiency
-Contract management
-Category team leadership
-Regulatory compliance and corporate governance
-Statutory and legal compliance
-Work Ethics
QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in Supply Chain Management /
Business / Engineering
-Postgraduate Degree / MBA in Supply Chain Management /
Business Administration (Recommended)
EXPERIENCE
-Minimum of five (5) years operational Category
management experience in a mining sector
-Minimum of five (5) years operational supplier negotiation
and contract management experience
-Minimum of three (3) years team leadership and
management experience (Team / Project leader /
supervisor experience)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-Drivers License - Code B/EB
-Medically Fit - Meet required medically fitness standards
-Accreditation Accredited Supply Chain Professional (E.g. CIPS)
-Work environment - Mining operations in the Northern Cape
-Travel Requirements - Travel between operational sites
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
-Category strategy development
o Expertise in developing category strategies or plans, including lifecycle
cost models
-Supplier relationship management
o Strong capability in managing suppliers to meet cost, quality, and
service targets
-Negotiation
o Ability to negotiate contracts, achieve cost savings, and manage
supplier compliance
-Financial acumen
o Strong understanding of procurement financials, including cost-saving
and TCO principles
-Stakeholder management
o Ability to align internal stakeholders with category goals and strategies
-Leadership
o Proven leadership skills in managing and mentoring category
management teams
-Resilience
o Maintain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changes in
procurement environment
for category reviews and supplier management
-Networking and collaboration
o Collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders to
execute category strategies
TERMS & CONDITIONS
The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.
Preference will be given to designated groups and woman-in-mining candidates.
