Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Scheduler to be placed in Karee 4, Marikana, North West. The successful candidate will report to the Site Superintendent. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Cost containment through prevention of rework and timeous identification and communication of barriers, challenges and non-conformance issues.
- Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives.
- Effective stakeholder engagement to acquire information to develop plans and schedules that represent the least amount of variance from reality.
- Effective and efficient implementation and execution of the project schedule to achieve production targets within project scope and budget.
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation.
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.
- National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in Construction / Engineering / Architecture or related technical field.
- Proficient in Primavera or similar planning / scheduling system (Advantages).
- Good communication skills in English.
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- Minimum 5 years of mining and/or construction experience with exposure to planning and scheduling on a mining project.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 standards and quality assurance principles.
- Knowledge of SANS standards and specifications.
- Basic understanding of mine planning and scheduling, planning processes and standards.
- Able to interpret construction, mining and structural drawings.
- Analytical, systematic and attentive to detail.
- Observant and perceptive, results-oriented and deadline-driven.
- Sound self-management (planning, scheduling and organizational) skills.
- Assertive and able to work independently within the rules.
