Description
Our client in the Hospitality industry based in Grahamstown is currently looking to employ a Head Chef.
Requirements:
- Live in position.
- 21 days on 7 days off work cycle.
- Shift Work - The position requires the chef to prepare meals when on shift for guests - It is not a supervisory role only.
- Relevant culinary qualification required.
- Minimum 3 years in a similar position.
- Costing experience essential.
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
- Managing day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Creating and costing menus in line with guest preferences and seasonal availability.
- Supervising and coordinating the work of all kitchen staff.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, including food hygiene and storage.
- Monitoring food costs, minimising wastage, and maintaining kitchen profitability.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
