Graphic Designer and Web Developer
We are looking for a talented Graphic Designer and Web Developer to join our Marketing team in the Johannesburg South area. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design and a solid foundation in web development, allowing them to create visually compelling and highly functional websites and digital assets and coordinate our social media platforms. You will play a critical role in bringing our brand to life across multiple digital platforms by blending creative graphic design with technical web development skills.
Key Responsibilities:
● Web Design and Development: Design and develop responsive, user-friendly websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks (such as React, Angular, or Vue.js). Ensure websites are optimised for performance, accessibility, and SEO.
● Graphic Design: Create visually appealing graphics, logos, banners, and other digital assets for websites, social media, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.
● Brand Consistency: Ensure all design elements are aligned with the brand guidelines and maintain a consistent look and feel across all digital and print materials.
● User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design: Develop intuitive and engaging user interfaces for websites and applications, focusing on enhancing the user experience.
● Collaborative Development: Work closely with marketing and other team members to conceptualize and execute creative campaigns and projects.
● Maintenance and Updates: Regularly update and maintain websites, ensuring functionality, security, and compatibility across all devices and browsers.
● Social Media Platforms: Coordinate social media platforms not limited to content creation and management, ensuring content is visually appealing and easy to navigate.
● Innovation and Trends: Stay current with design and development trends, suggesting new tools, technologies, and approaches to enhance our digital presence.
● Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and delivering high-quality work within scope.
Required Skills and Experience:
● Proven experience as a Graphic Designer and Web Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing both design and development projects.
● Minimum qualification in Graphic design and/or web development may be required.
● Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other relevant tools.
● Solid experience with front-end development languages and frameworks, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc.
● Strong understanding of responsive design principles and web development best practices.
● Knowledge of SEO best practices and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
● Excellent attention to detail, with a keen eye for aesthetics and visual details.
● Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and optimise web functionality.
● Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
