As an EC&I Engineer in the water treatment sector, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the installation and commissioning of ECI equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the efficient operation of water treatment facilities. Additionally, you will be involved in conducting risk assessments, developing maintenance schedules, and continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement and innovation. You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient and effective operation of our water treatment plants. Strong analytical skills, diligence, and an initiative-taking approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implementation of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems for water treatment facilities
• Perform regular maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure optimal functioning and compliance with safety standards
• Troubleshoot and diagnose any issues with electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
• Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure compatibility and integration of systems
• Develop and maintain documentation, including drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
• Stay updated on the latest technology and industry standards related to electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
• Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in proper procedures and protocols
• Always ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, installing, and maintaining electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, preferably in the water treatment sector
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, and other control systems
• Experience with AutoCAD and other design software
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Effective communication and people skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s licence is required
