Overview
The Process Controller is responsible for the processing and blending of key raw materials in the manufacturing of Innopak explosives
Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 with Math and Science
- Bachelors’ degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Experience
- 3 years’ demonstrated experience in the processing and blending of key raw material in the manufacturing of emulsion explosives
- 3 year demonstrated experience to independently set and maintain safety, quality, production, productivity and housekeeping standards
- 1 year demonstrated experience in People Management ( advantageous)
Duties
Managing aspects and meeting targets in the following areas of this position:
Chemical process monitoring and control:
- Quality control: sampling and chemical analyses
- Production productivity: meeting daily production targets
- Production reporting
- Adherence to Safety standards and procedure
- Material productivity
- Adherence to sound SHERQ principles

Job Knowledge:
- Must have an understanding of safety and engineering control requirements
- Must be able to perform effectively under pressure
- Knowledge of PLC systems
- Demonstrated computer literacy
- Demonstrated ability to meet daily production targets
- Must be able to work independently and unsupervised
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
- Must be willing to work additional hours if and when required and fulfil standby duties
