MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To assess and coordinate emergency vehicles or calls to ensure a timeous response to incidents logged on Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD). To assist in receiving, prioritising and logging emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and to determine the appropriate level of EMS assistance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Dispatch vehicles according to the CAD system.
- Assist in receiving, prioritising, logging, and processing all calls and alerts received.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Grade 12.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 – 3 years dispatching in an EMS contact centre.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Dispatching of vehicles.
- Emergency Care.
- Typing Skills.
- English language (written and verbal).
- Geographical locations.
- Telephonic and email etiquette.
