Description:
The Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor is responsible for monitoring cutting and edging operations, ensuring quality and the smooth running of processes. He/she supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in cutting and edging fabric as per customer specifications to minimize losses to the company. The supervisor is also responsible for maintenance on all machinery.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications.
- 2 years carpentry experience would be advantageous.
- 2 years managerial or supervisory experience would be advantageous.
- 1 year experience working with cutting and edging machinery would be advantageous.
- Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Minimize wastage and customer complaints through accurate calibration of machines according to cutting lists.

- Perform daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Provide reliable, prompt customer service.
- Ensure effective employee scheduling is planned and implemented to provide exceptional customer service.
- Advise customers correctly on products.
- Assist customers with any product queries.
- Assist with customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Ensure area of responsibility is packed neatly and free of obstacles.
- Ensure stock is merchandised immediately after being received.
- Ensure compliance with safety (OHSA) standards, including the use of safety gear to ensure customer and employee safety within the area of responsibility.
- Adhere to machinery specifications and safety standards.
- Be aware of suspicious behaviors or individuals and report any suspicions to management.
- No product to be loaded for a customer without proof of purchase or required documentation.
