Primary Purpose
To generate revenue for Bidvest by sourcing new clients and proactively managing the account to maximize profitability. To grow and retain a portfolio of high-value banking relationships by performing proactive value-adding partnership, by providing banking solutions and services to maintain and grow the existing customer base. To develop and maintain a portfolio of important revenue-generating client relationships within the defined affluent market segment.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric
- NQF5 - National Diploma – Finance/Certificate in Banking
- FAIS RE5 Completed within allocated timelines as prescribed by FSCA
- Recognized as per FSCA Relevant Financial qualification
Experience
- 2 years of previous Business Banking and Relationship Management Sales experience, with exposure to financial services

Duties and Responsibilities
FINANCE
Sales
- Proactively cold call and find new clients for Bidvest to meet the monthly revenue target
- Educate and promote Bidvest’s full product offering to clients to maximize the revenue that can be generated
- Manage the profit margins by providing clients with comparative information on rates and obtaining the best rates for specific banking products
- Track, control, and influence sales activities to increase sales efficiencies of the team
- Actively grow the client base by agreed target of new acquisitions a month to achieve the sales target
Portfolio Management
- Monitor, track, and report on sales activity periodically to ensure action is taken to meet sales targets
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and referrals to other product lines through understanding client needs
- Identify new revenue opportunities and gather customer feedback on products
Risk Management
- Comply with governance in terms of legislative and audit requirements
- Understand clients' risk profile and balance for individual clients by optimizing product mix
CLIENT CENTRICITY
Client Service
- Anticipate and interpret clients’ business requirements to encourage them to bank with Bidvest
- Provide relevant, timely solutions to clients through research on their business and educating them on Bidvest’s products
- Deliver excellent service that results in client referrals and new business
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high service levels and quality
- Engage in continuous face-to-face and telephonic interaction with clients to proactively address their needs
- Assist clients in maximizing benefits from products by offering the right product at the right time
- Proactively manage the review process of clients’ facilities to achieve timely renewals
- Train and assist clients on necessary systems/processes for efficient dealings with the Bank
- Maintain awareness of market conditions to provide relevant advice to clients
- On-board new clients following compliance and credit application processes
Admin Support
- Provide relevant reports to track progress
- Review client files to ensure information is updated
- Update and manage all client interaction on the CRM system
INTERNAL PROCESSES
Process Management
- Build successful relationships with legal, credit, internal bankers, back office, and treasury to meet clients’ needs
- Work with legal and credit to ensure all necessary documents are in place and delivered to clients
- Assist with SARB applications
- Follow up with all parties to ensure queries are resolved
Training
- Manage own development to increase competencies
- Complete all required product training for cross-selling opportunities
- Complete all mandatory training, including Anti-Money Laundering
- Stay updated on FICA, PoPI compliance, and legislation
- Meet training deadlines as outlined in PDP
- Keep abreast of compliance (FICA) requirements
- Understand banking products and channels
- Ensure FAIS compliance
- Understand the sales cycle
