Hugenote Kollege in Wellington is a private Christian post-school training institution that specialises in the training of pastors, leaders in various ministries, as well as professionals in the social welfare sector. The College has a Christian character and missional calling, and works in close collaboration with the Dutch Reformed Church, United Congregational Church, Calvyn Protestantse Kerk and Uniting Reformed Church.
Due to the retirement of the current Rector (at the end of April 2025), applications are requested from dynamic applicants to fill this challenging position from the 1st of April 2025 .
The successful incumbent will take responsibility for the following functions:
- Strategic leadership and management
- Academic management (including pedagogy, formation of learning and program management)
- Overall management of courses / programmes and services
- Strategic Human Resource management
- External liaison and marketing
- Financial oversight
- IT, infrastructure and assets
- Risk management and reporting
- Administrative management
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (doctorate serves as recommendation) in Human Sciences, Theology and/or Social Work
- 5-10 years’ relevant experience in a similar executive managerial role, preferably in the academic (higher education) environment
- Professional knowledge and insight regarding the strategic and operational functioning of business enterprises
- Exceptional level of visionary leadership, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Experience and insight regarding the ecclesiastical and social environment
- Good working knowledge / experience of relevant legislation, structures and best practices / methodology of education & training (Higher Education and FET)
- Well-developed negotiation and facilitation skills
- Proven administrative skills (management of IT, Finance and HR)
- Balanced Christian theology, values system and philosophy of life
- Display an attitude of kind-heartedness, compassion and servant leadership
