Job Title: Integration Engineer Propulsion Systems

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required: - Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-10 years of experience in propulsion system integration or a similar engineering role within the maritime industry.
- Strong understanding of propulsion technologies (engines, turbines, fuel systems, and power generation).
- Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
- Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).
Beneficial requirements: - Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software) for system design and layout.
- Knowledge of maritime regulations and industry standards (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Duties and responsibilities:
- System Integration: Integrate propulsion and power generation systems (engines, turbines, fuel systems, and electrical generators) into the ships design, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Design Collaboration: Work closely with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers to ensure the propulsion systems are compatible with the overall ship design.
- Testing and Validation: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of propulsion systems to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for propulsion systems during the construction phase and resolve any integration-related issues that arise during testing and operation.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing optimization and innovation of propulsion systems, focusing on fuel efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
