Duties & Responsibilities
Safety:
- Compliance with all safety regulations as set out in the mines policies.
- General tidiness and good housekeeping of site and other areas of responsibility.
Mining:
- Execution of planned production activities.
- Ensuring targets are achieved.
- Pre-shift meeting and inspection of work areas.
- Dump Control.
- Load and Hauling.
- Loading areas.
- Administration.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- National Senior Certificate.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have an open pit blasting or rock breaking certificate.
- Competency A / Legal Liability.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an open pit mining environment.
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- Must have proven experience with open pit heavy equipment fleet and open pit operations and mechanical inclined.
- Previous experience with loading and hauling in open pit mining environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
- Must be medically fit and pass a medical examination / Dover as required from the designated mines.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines as determined by the supervisor.
- Must possess basic problem solving and self-management skills.
