Job Responsibilities
• Provide technical support to Project Management and participate in project teams
• Stay abreast of technological advancements in relevant discipline
• Assist in technical evaluations for discipline for projects in various developmental stages, by applying appropriate evaluation methods and project management principles
Technical Support
• Ensure effective delivery of quality service
• Conduct detail design for civil/structural infrastructure including approval of drawings
• Conduct project scoping and bill of quantities
• Conduct investigations and make recommendations on appropriate Engineering techniques
• Conduct audits on installations, equipment and facilities
• Conduct project planning, coordination and implementation
• Conduct preventative maintenance and root cause problem solving
• Ensure civil/structural infrastructure performance is optimised
• Provide accurate feedback to customers
• Manage cost recovery to be aligned with project targets
Compliance, Governance and Assurance
• Execution of controls
• Recognise, understand and take action to manage risks that can impact on outputs of own job and section
• Participate in governance systems for best practice

Contractor Management
• Ensure well-co-ordinated construction implementation using integration meetings, scheduling and commercial conditions of contract.
• Excellent Engineering team liaison to reduce TQNs
• Close out procedure driven from day one
• Engineering Integrity sign offs
• Ensuring contractor schedules are received frequently and with the correct detail to monitor progress
• Interfacing with the Contracts manager to generate the relevant commercial letter
• Continuous review of the construction schedule to ensure the correct construction sequence
• Review of contractor equipment placement for smooth flowing construction
• Redline Drawings are managed and correctly marked up and verified.
• Construction complete documentation generated per discipline
• Construction executed in accordance with the commissioning sequence
• Assist in identifying risks and putting them on the risk register
• Development of mitigation plans and the implementation thereof to remove the risk
• Follow the PEP chapter
Document Control and Quality
• Work with the Quality Manager to deliver a best quality product for the timeline and life span of the project
• Document control of all relevant documents
Desired Experience & Qualification
- BEng Civil Engineering or BTech Civil Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
Registered : Engineering Council of SA (PrEng or PrTech) (Essential/Minimum)
- Diploma Project Management (Recommended/Desirable)
