Job Purpose
To collect, analyze and report quantitative/qualitative internal, competitive and market insights to support business or commercial decisions and inform local strategic direction development for the Sub Sahara Africa.
Key Accountabilities
- Develops or sources/collates and manages macroeconomic, segmentation, market, store, channel, distribution, product, pricing and market share information.
- Updates key performance measures in accordance to agreed frequency and timing.
- Closes the feedback loop with sales by collecting, analyzing and feeding back market information supplemented by external research.
- Populate Situational Analysis, commercial plans and operational plans in accordance to global Commercial Strategy process and templates and generates insight to guide local strategic direction and support business decision making.
- Collects and shares competitor company and/or product insights obtained through desk research, commissioned research and in-market immersion.
- Shares relevant information and insights with relevant stakeholders.
- Analyses internal and external data to reveal and report changes in market dynamics e.g. Colour dynamics, segment dynamics, emerging trends.
- Develop insight and shares insights into brand, product, segments, regions or customer groups in preparation for management reviews.
- Supports the marketing function with accurate analysis and insights for better-informed decision making regarding complexity reduction (product portfolio).
- Generates reports to assess brand and/or sub-brand performance versus targets and shares insights into potential areas for improvement.
- Provides reports on the performance of new product introductions.
- Maintains, monitors and reports on advertising spend, opex and colour collateral.
- Product Management Review support (e.g. Slow moving, obsolete stock, new product introduction) and PMR pack compilation.
- Drives sustainability reporting according to global process & timelines.
- Management of external suppliers linked to role.
- Master data support.

Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Marketing & Sales with broad based and extensive skill and competence in the key performance areas listed (qualifications in economics, business science, engineering and accounting preferred).
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and excellent aptitude MS Office Packages (advanced Excel and PowerPoint), Accpac and SAP R3.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Commercial and financial acumen are key requirements as well as project management.
- Independent, proactive, numerical competence, affinity for data and data manipulation, explorative/investigative, insightful for insight development, structured in presentation of data and insights, quality and accuracy conscious.
