· Develop a risk-based, three-year rolling internal audit plan for Audit Committee review and approval. Oversee the implementation of the approved plan, ensure proper resourcing for implementation of the plan, and adjust the plan as needed in response to changes in business risks, operations, programs, systems and controls. · Ensure methodical documentation of work plans, testing results, conclusions and recommendations. · Ensure follow-up on findings and corrective actions. · Preparation of Internal Audit Reports, and presentation thereof at the quarterly Audit Committee meetings. · Conduct investigations and report to the Audit Committee, Risk & Sustainability Committee as well as Social, Ethics and Transformation Committee on reports received through the Whistleblower line. · Conduct investigations regarding suspected frauds and other irregularities. · Compile and manage a budget for all internal audit activities. · Co-ordinate the combined assurance process and strengthen combined assurance activities. · Advise the organisation on developments in internal audit. · Keep abreast of emerging trends, practices and changes in relevant legislation impacting on Internal Audit. · Maintain current knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations and Guidelines. · Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. · Lead and direct the Internal Audit team by creating a working environment conducive to a positive, performance driven work culture. · Drive performance and ensure business objectives are met by establishing clear performance standards and objectives for the Internal Audit team. · Actively lead by example and champion diversity and inclusion in everyday actions and decisions. · Live, embrace and model the values of the organisation. Purpose: The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for a strategic risk-based internal audit plan and managing the internal audit function in accordance with the internal audit charter and the professional standards for internal auditing as issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) from time to time. Responsibilities include providing assurance on the effectiveness of the risk management process as well as the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls. Requirements: · Relevant business / commercial degree. · Completed professional qualification e.g. CA(SA) will be an added advantage. · 10 years of related working experience with at least three (3) years at a Senior Management level in an Internal Audit capacity. · Previous experience working within the ambit of the Audit Committee. · Sound knowledge of Corporate Governance. · Proven track record as a trusted advisor with sound experience in stakeholder management at a senior level, together with a demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with Board Members as well as Senior Management.
