We are currently searching for a qualified and reliable Junior Property/Facility Manager to lead our team. As the Property/Facility Manager, you will be responsible for managing all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of our company’s facilities. Your duties will include maintaining buildings, planning repair activities, and developing maintenance procedures. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in the property/facility arena and in a management role, with excellent organizational and leadership abilities. The candidate will demonstrate a good understanding of building maintenance and equipment and must have a proven track record of managing a student accommodation building's maintenance.
Maintenance Manager Requirements:
- Matric plus Diploma in Property/Construction Management (will be an advantage).
- Must have knowledge and experience of maintenance of buildings/property.
- Must have 3-5 years’ experience in overseeing the property/facility maintenance function and managing a diverse team of employees.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to relocate to PE/Gqeberha.
- Skills Required for the Post:
- Proven ability to work as a team leader and player while meeting daily and monthly goals.
- Self-starter having the ability to recognize what has to be done and complete it without assistance or instruction.
- Courteous, professional, and competent to execute jobs at hand when students are on-site.
- Detail-oriented pays attention to specifics of processes and particular attention to special requirements.
- Possess the ability to use reasoning skills to solve practical difficulties.
- Self-motivated, driven and have the desire to learn and seek new challenges.
- Understand terminologies used in the building and construction industry.
Maintenance Manager Responsibilities:
- Supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations.
- Managing the maintenance budget and keeping track of spending.
- Create, develop and execute maintenance procedures.
- Conduct routine building inspections in order to identify and address issues.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures by all maintenance personnel.
- Document and compile daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
Duties & Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Planning, scheduling and execution of daily room maintenance.
- Administration and reporting on daily room and communal maintenance.
- Source, management, and acquisition of required stock needed.
- Management of store rooms (Planning, organizing, scheduling and execution of midterm and annual room inspections).
- Daily site inspection and detailed reporting of work completed on site.
- Work with external service contractors and oversee maintenance-related procurement requests.
- Manage a portfolio of large-scale projects including maintenance and renovations projects.
- Weekly review of the job reports to manage and oversee employee performance.
- Identify and act on facilities with repeated job requests.
- Attend to service-related emergencies 24/7.
Position Goals & Objectives:
- Manage all facilities included and create a suitable environment for the purpose of student accommodation.
- Utilize best practices in business to manage and reduce operating costs.
- Optimize billing and utility usage.
- Increase infrastructure and building operating efficiency.
- Deliver exceptional standard of building and facility hygiene and assure positive student experience through quality maintenance and cleaning practices.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform all tasks on schedule with maximum efficiency.
- Work with the Community Management team to identify opportunities to enhance student experience.
- Manage the facilities and service team to perform tasks at highest quality.
- Manage the Maintenance team and contractors.
