Yard Operative / Yardman – Hammersmith, London

Project: New Build Energy Centre – District Heating Network
Job Type: Construction Site / Contract
Sphere Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Yard Operative / Yardman to work on a new build Energy Centre project in Hammersmith, London.
The project forms part of a wider district heating network development, and we are looking for a reliable, versatile individual to assist with the day-to-day management of site logistics, deliveries, plant operations and general yard duties.
Key Responsibilities

Managing site access and gate duties, ensuring safe movement of vehicles, plant and personnel.

Coordinating deliveries and directing vehicles entering and leaving site.

Operating a telehandler and articulated dump truck (ADT) as required.

Loading, unloading and distributing materials around site.

Maintaining a clean, safe and organised site compound and storage areas.

Assisting with general site logistics and material management.

Supporting site management with day-to-day operational requirements.

Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with site health and safety procedures.
Requirements

Previous experience working as a Yardman, Yard Operative, Logistics Operative or similar on a construction site.

Valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler certification.

Valid CPCS or NPORS ADT certification would be advantageous.

Experience managing site gates, deliveries and vehicle movements.

Good understanding of construction site health and safety procedures.

Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with delivery drivers, subcontractors and site management.

Flexible, reliable and willing to assist with a variety of site duties.

CSCS card or equivalent site accreditation, where applicable.
