Who are Scottish Shellfish:
Scottish Shellfish are the UK’s leading supplier of rope-grown mussels and cultivated Pacific oysters. Our farmers produce mussels and oysters of the highest quality in the pristine seas of the West coast of Scotland and the Shetland Isles. Scottish Shellfish has a presence in most UK supermarkets with our range of value-added cooked mussels in sauce, chilled seafood selections and other live shellfish products.
The role:
Reporting into our Demand Planning Manager, you will be tasked with understanding all retailer forecasting systems and work alongside our other planners to create production schedules, packing plans as well as manage finished goods stocks with a short shelf life.
Day to day duties will be:
Organising own workload to meet allocated schedules / KPI’s and to deliver an accurate and reliable service to both management and the customer.
- Analysing customer forecast data, comparing with anticipated forecasts and identifying any anomalies therein.
- Utilisation of an Excel based system to compare customer/supplier sales data to provide the business with an indication of the most accurate likely sales outcome for any given period.
- Creation and communication of daily production plans utilising bespoke business software.
- Data input including inputting information to Excel and any additional input when required.
- Accurately updating daily plans considering despatch times, trial requests and maintenance requests.
- Communicate throughout the day with all departments, making sure that any issues are factored into the daily production plans and communicated clearly.
- Updating plan attainment to show the percentage of the packing lines performance.
About You:
Ideally you will have experience within a fast-paced role, be it demand, labour, customer or client facing; not necessarily within a food environment as systems can be taught and if you have the enthusiasm and drive to develop within FMCG this is a great role to gain that experience. Attention to detail is vitally important as is an ability to analyse large volumes of data.
Excel skills essential
Use of Co-Pilot or similar systems desirable
