General Foreman – BESS Civils Project
Location: Sussex

Duration: Long-Term Contract
We are currently recruiting for an experienced General Foreman to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project based in Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a significant renewable energy infrastructure scheme, overseeing day-to-day civils operations and coordinating site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the project programme.
The successful candidate will have a strong civil engineering background, with previous experience supervising groundworks and infrastructure packages. BESS, substation or wider energy project experience would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervising daily civils operations across the BESS development.

Managing site operatives, subcontractors and plant.

Overseeing groundworks, excavations, drainage, ducting, foundations and concrete installations.

Ensuring all activities are completed safely and in accordance with RAMS and project specifications.

Coordinating labour, materials and plant to maintain productivity.

Monitoring work quality and progress against programme.

Carrying out site inspections, toolbox talks and daily briefings.

Liaising with the Site Manager and wider project team.

Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping across site.
Requirements:

Previous experience as a General Foreman or Civils Supervisor on civil engineering projects.

Strong background in groundworks and infrastructure.

Previous BESS, substation, renewable energy or power infrastructure experience would be beneficial.

Proven ability to manage site teams and coordinate subcontractors.

Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Good understanding of health and safety procedures and site documentation.
