Director of FP&A
West Midlands (3 days per week) B2B SaaS / Private Equity Backed
SF Partners is exclusively supporting a high-growth, private equity-backed B2B SaaS business with the appointment of a Director of FP&A.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious technology business at an exciting stage of its growth journey, working directly with the senior leadership team and investors to help shape its future.
Reporting directly to a senior member of the executive team, the successful individual will take ownership of the FP&A function, inheriting an established team and playing a pivotal role in driving commercial performance, financial insight and strategic decision-making.
The role will require three days per week on-site, alongside regular interaction with the private equity investor, including weekly conversations around financial performance, key metrics and strategic priorities.
We are looking for somebody who is exceptionally analytical, commercially astute and comfortable operating at both a strategic and detailed level. You will need the confidence and gravitas to challenge senior stakeholders, alongside the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into meaningful commercial conversations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the FP&A function, providing high-quality financial insight to the executive leadership team.
- Taking ownership of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and long-range strategic modelling.
- Driving the analysis and reporting of key SaaS metrics and KPIs, providing clear insight into business performance and growth opportunities.
- Working closely with senior stakeholders and private equity investors, supporting commercial and strategic decision-making through regular performance discussions.
- Developing financial models, reporting frameworks and performance analysis to support the next phase of growth.
- Challenging assumptions, identifying opportunities and ensuring financial information is used effectively across the business.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Previous experience working within a B2B SaaS business is essential. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
- A strong understanding of SaaS metrics, KPIs and the commercial drivers of a subscription-based business.
- Experience operating within a high-growth technology environment, ideally with private equity exposure.
- Exceptional analytical capability, with the ability to move comfortably between the bigger picture and the detail.
- Strong commercial acumen, intellectual agility and the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the gravitas to engage effectively at executive and investor level.
- A track record of developing teams and improving financial planning, reporting and commercial insight.
This opportunity would suit an ambitious and high-calibre FP&A professional who is looking for a long-term opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing business.
