NYKAYS Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs (SEN) at a school in Walthamstow.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and become more independent.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils individually, in small groups and within the classroom.

Delivering planned learning activities and targeted interventions.

Leading classroom learning when required, under the guidance of teaching staff.

Adapting activities to meet pupils’ individual needs.
-
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement.
-
Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals.

Monitoring pupils’ progress and sharing feedback with the teaching team.
We are looking for someone with:

HLTA status or a relevant qualification, or substantial experience working at an equivalent level.

Experience supporting children with SEN.

Confidence leading learning activities and managing classroom behaviour.
-
A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
